Eid ul Adha

This Eid is not like usual Eids for me. It’s the first Eid-ul-Adha without Ammi and I can’t help but look at photos from last year and miss that time and her most of all. My bhabi lost her father to Coronavirus too just a few days back. So to say that my spirits are dampened this Eid is an understatement. I want to be happy, I really do but I can’t bring myself to celebrate Eid like usual knowing that so many people are suffering.

Please keep my bhabi, her family and all those who are affected due to this pandemic in your duas. May Allah swt grant shifa-e-kamil and ease to those who are affected, grant Jannat-ul-Firdaus to those who have passed away and grant their families and loved ones sabr-e-jameel, Ameen.

Please remember that we’re still in the middle of a pandemic and there are many who are going through very bad times. Be considerate towards them. Please follow strict precautionary measures: wear masks, gloves, sanitize your hands or wash them frequently, keep a safe distance of 6 feet from other people and avoid meeting people unnecessarily. It’s our responsibility to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.

I’m hoping and praying that better times will come soon In’sha’Allah and we will get to experience Eid and other festivities the way we used to back in the day. Until then, stay safe! May all of us have a blessed Eid and may Allah swt accept our sacrifice and ibadah and keep all of us in His protection, Ameen.

P.S. I took this photograph of the beautiful Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, way back in 2011 on a college trip during IVS days. It feels like another lifetime ago!
